PDXBluescast – Show #27
Okay, this one will be a bit shorter than last week’s gabfest with my brother Steve. For this show we focus on two very talented local artists: Albert Reda and Monti “Big Monti” Amundson. You’ll hear some very tasty tunes from each of their self-produced CDs.
Can you believe it? The Waterfront Blues Festival is just ONE WEEK AWAY! I’m beside myself with anticipation. Go here to check out the lineup for this 5-day blues extravaganza — the largest blues festival west of the Mississippi! I’m hopeful that I can do something for the show while I’m there, like artist interviews and maybe some performance snippets, but I’ll keep you posted as my plans solidify.
And hey, if you wanna get your bluesfest started a day early, come on out to Beale Street NW this Thursday night, 6/29 for a night of music to benefit Bob Hodges, owner of Beale Street NW. Kinzel & Hyde will be among the artists performing that night, and they’ve invited me to sit in with them on keyboards! C’mon down and see your favorite bluescaster in action. If nothing else, you know that Stu and LynnAnn will be sounding good!
Get in touch, okay? It’s been too long! You can post a comment right here on the blog, send e-mail to the address shown at right, or leave me a voice message at 206-203-3PDX (3739)! If you’re a Portland-area musician and would like your material featured on the show, send me e-mail for instructions on how to get it done. If I love it, I’ll play it!

MONTI! Love Monti! In addition to being a great player and performer, he’s also one funny guy. My boyfriend played with Monti when it was Monti, John Mazzocco on bass, Jeff on drums. That was a kick-ass trio. And since you mentioned the blues fest, I have fond memories of their set closing the show there on 4th of July ’98.
