PDXBluescast – Show #26
A special show, with a special guest — my brother Steve McDougall! Steve was in town visiting from Victoria, B.C., and we attended the Curtis Salgado Benefit together. Two nights later we had the great pleasure of sitting in with Kinzel & Hyde at Beale Street NW. We talk about these experiences and play a couple of tunes to give you a taste of these fine artists. This show is a bit of a departure because it’s light on music and heavy on the talk…with two McDougall boys yakking at each other, it does get a little long. But I do hope you’ll enjoy it.
I love hearing from you, even if it’s to tell me this show was too long. You can post a comment right here on the blog, send e-mail to the address shown at right, or leave me a voice message at 206-203-3PDX (3739)! If you’re a Portland-area musician and would like your material featured on the show, send me e-mail for instructions on how to get it done. If I love it, I’ll play it!

Interesting … just like re-living the show. Nice to be able to hear what went on after I left … since everyone now knows I left early … 12:15 doesn’t seem that early when I was up since 5 am and had to be up at that same time the next morning!!
…and I wasn’t the one who missed the whole first set!!!! Eh??
Sounds like you and Steve had a great time, not just at the show, but doing the podcast as well.

Kevin HAYES is Cray’s drummer. (Just saw him play with his sister last night.) It was interesting to hear your recap of the show. If your brother hadn’t seen Richard Cousins since he’s had dreads, then he hadn’t seen him in years…’cause the Rasta Cowboy has been sportin’ ‘em a long time.
Always good to hear a track from “Hit It and Quit It”…Jeff played drums on some of the tracks on that CD after he’d left Curtis’ band (but not that one). The title of that CD is what he used to say to Curtis right before they’d hit the stage…that old James Brown line…
