PDXBluescast – Show #20

Hey everybody, thanks for droppin’ in. Time for some live blues this week, and it’s a treat — captured just last night during Curtis Salgado’s duo gig with Alan Hager at the Cascade Bar & Grill. In addition, we’ve got a live extended jam from Reggie Houston, plus vintage blues from Brown Sugar and a tasty minor blues from Kinzel & Hyde.

Are you bursting at the seams, compelled by an urgent need to convey your thoughts to me? C’mon and vent — you’ll feel better. It is so great to hear Curtis sorta live and still doing it at the top of his form in the face of adversity.
That Reggie Houston track is great, what a guitar solo by Peter Dammann!!
Stir in a little Brown Sugar and pay for it all with an Oklahoma Credit Card and you’ve got another great podcast. Thanks Pat, you’ve definately proved the old adage “Better late than never” is so true!!

Just getting around to listening to this one…and just realized that you posted it the day before we crossed paths at the Trail’s End. :) So great to hear Reggie Houston…I hope Portlanders realize how lucky they are to have him in their midst. When we stopped in at the Candlelight about a year ago, Reinhardt graciously let Jeffrey sit in on drums for a couple of songs with Reggie’s band…and that was fun because the last time Jeffrey had played with Gary and D.K. (separately) had been on St. Thomas. And the last time we’d heard Reggie was when the club we were affiliated with on St. Thomas flew him in with Charmaine Neville’s band for a couple of shows…it was a good time. :)

I just came across your site after hitting Steve Bradly’s page. I plan to listen to every show just to catch up. To begin with I’ll be listening to your show #20. I love Curtis (of course). But have always been a big Lloyd and Jim Mesi fan.. I’ve always heard about “Brown Sugar” but never heard them… Today is the day !! Thanks Pat..
