PDXBluescast – Show #1

Welcome to Show #1 of PDXBluescast — a weekly music podcast celebrating the great blues music of Portland, Oregon (PDX) and surrounding areas. The mission of this show is to get the word out about our exciting and vibrant blues scene, and to gain some exposure for the talented artists plying their trade night after night.

This first show is just music (fantastic music, mind you), but we have plans for more interesting features as time goes on. Artist interviews, live performances, CD giveaways — it’s all coming as we continue developing the show. Oh, and I forgot to give credit during this episode for our opening and closing theme music: “Salmon Street Rag,” by Robbie Laws, from his River City Blues CD. (Salmon Street is a main drag in downtown Portland.)

We want your feedback — let us know how we’re doing, and what else you’d like to see us do. To get in touch, post a comment right here on the blog, send e-mail to the address shown at right, or leave us a message at 206-309-PDXB (7392)! Please tell us how you heard about the show, too.

Please subscribe to the show in your podcatching application of choice, so you’ll be able to hear each episode as soon as it’s posted. If this means little or nothing to you, check out the link at right titled “What is podcasting?” That should get you started using and enjoying this cool new medium. You’ll be the envy of your friends!

Hey Pat,
This is even cooler than your Themelounge podcasts!
But … are you going to let Alex play his favorite Portland blues acts?

Hi, Terry -

Glad you like the new podcast! Oh, and about Alex…if I asked him to play his favorite Portland blues acts, that part of the show would amount to 5 minutes of silence. The boy’s not a big blues fan, I’m afraid. Not yet, anyway…

Alex would probably just play Tall Static anyway! Hahaha

Just found this today. KEWL. I was thinking of doing this but you beat me to it!
